Did you have a good Thanksgiving? Ours was excellent. Here is a pic just before we all sat down to our feast :)

On the day after Thanksgiving Black Friday, the kids were introduced to their Elf on the Shelf. We thought it would be a fun little tradition to start with the kids. So, without further delay, allow me to introduce you to our newest house guest – “Hopper”:

So far, Hopper has been found on a plate of half-eaten pumpkin cake, hanging out with the donkey in the nativity scene, and, as in the picture, sitting on the Christmas tree, and helping himself to one of the decorative candy canes. :) The kids are having so much fun looking for him each morning. I am just hoping we don’t forget to move him one night…knock on wood!

Thanks to pinterest, I found a blog that lists 101 ideas for the elf! :) Some are kind of random, but there are plenty of great ideas!

I’ll post any extra-fun Hopper stories here as the Christmas season continues. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go re-decorate the Christmas tree. The kids “decorated” it last night – the the bottom 3 feet is covered in ornaments, but the rest of the tree is bare. I was able to let it be for the whole day today, but I can’t take it anymore!

What are your Christmas traditions?
